F. PATRICK BUTLER is a professor at Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland. He has taught at Georgetown University, the Universities of Stockholm and Innsbruck, and at Monterrey Institute of Technology. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania. Dr. Butler earned his bachelor's degree at St. Bonaventure University and his master's and doctoral degrees at The American University of Washington, D.C. He was a White House staff member for Vice-president Rockefeller, and served as a naval flight officer in the United States Navy. He has three daughters and six grandchildren, and lives part of the year in St. Petersburg, Florida. Prof. Butler is currently at work on a sequel to Cavorting with Strangers, which focuses on the historic figures of Spain.
