Joanna Penn is an author, international speaker and entrepreneur based in London, England. She was voted as one of The Guardian UK Top 100 creative professionals 2013.
She was an IT consultant for 13 years, working in large corporates across Europe and Asia Pacific. In 2011, she became a full-time author/entrepreneur. Her journey and lessons learned are documented in her book "Career Change: Stop hating your job, find out what you really want to do, and start doing it."
Joanna's site, TheCreativePenn helps authors with writing and creative entrepreneurship. She has a popular podcast on iTunes and a YouTube Channel.

While a bulk of the book is filled with helpful (if not common sense) tips on planning an event the truly important section, the resources section, is horribly out of date.
Many of the publication, speaking society, portal, and technology company links are not functional.
I've never tried to plan an event without having resources. It is easily understood and deeply thought. Really I want to give this book a 4.5. And this is a great medium for this artist (in addition to obvious ones he pursues with such success); his is a message that deserves to hang on your refrigerator and not just in galleries and museums. This book debunks many of the myths about Schubert and shows us the real man. I started reading this as a complete newcomer to my new iMac, having made a quantum leap from W.xp.
